As per PC Magazine Security Watch Blog, BitLocker introduced in Vista has been improved in Windows 7. It can also be used for removable devices now and the removable device can be used on other Windows 7 computers as long as the passphrase is known.
This will eventually be enabled to work with Windows XP & Windows Vista as also.
